I hope this is going to be my last grinchy post about Christmas. Even though there is a lot I can grinch about, I want to be more hopeful than hope-crushing.
The last thing I want to whinge about is Christmas lights. I actually love their aesthetic. However, they produce a lot of really bad things as a result.
1. light pollution which I found out turtles are sensitive to.
2. plastic waste in packaging and when all gross and need to be thrown away.
3. pollution from electricity.
Solar lights are great. Candles are also pretty great. But a whole house decorated with lights, that is powered for 24ish days if not more I think is something that we need to consider sacrificing.
