I don't pamper myself much. And in the past I have always had bad experiences with face masks because I feel like they are burning my skin off. May be that is just how they are meant to feel. Can't say I'm a fan. But because my acne can get quite bad, I do use them sometimes. There are a few main ingredients that I use.
Bentonite clay
This I get refilled at Biome in the city or at indooroppilly. Clay masks don't burn until you add a bit of acid. Enter apple cider vinegar
Now in any of the DIY recipes that I've found for masks, I always halve the amount of vinegar because my face just can't handle it. I've also added honey in the past to reduce the impact. And lavender to help with redness as well.
I generally go for equal parts vinegar and bentonite clay. And add a few drops of lavender, and some water and honey until I get the consistency I want.
