One of the last zero-waste swaps that I needed to make was moisturiser. Now was probably still not the right time as I still have like 1L of sorbelene and still half a bottle of face moisturiser. But a random lady on the internet was selling a pot of aloe vera for like $1 so I brought the thing and started experimenting. I had to repot the aloe vera (bearing in mind that my entire knowledge of how to repot things comes from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - only a true Harry Potter fan would know why). While repotting, I stripped back a few of the leaves and scooped out the goop. Again, another snot like consistency that is slippery and spikey to deal with. And it feels like cutting up tentacles (although of that I am only guessing).
I used this recipe. https://www.lifenreflection.com/hydrating-aloe-vera-face-cream/
It is pretty good. I probably need to invest in a hand mixer instead of using my whisk, mix master and my nutribullet to try and blend the thing. But we got there in the end. I need literally the smallest amount of this stuff for my face. I am not convinced it is going to work for me yet. It is oily, and I have oily skin so I will have to tough it out for a while and see. I also used the vegan version of bees wax, which is candelillia wax, it comes from a plant. That wasn't on purpose, they just didn't have any bees-wax at my regular shop. The wax costs a bit, but you don't need much and it lasts ages.
