Recycling Woes

I was listening to the radio driving home from Brisbane this afternoon. I already knew that this was happening but it was a reminder of how much still has to improve. The radio station had asked callers to share 'secrets' about their workplaces. A man who worked at a recycling plant and said that everything that goes to recycling is now going to landfill because the government can't get its act together.

It's sad that as well as thinking about how to best do literally everything so that it isn't wasteful, that we can't trust those who we should to do what we need. I think it's sad that I'm constantly thinking 'try not to recycle' when as a kid that was the first thing I was taught about how to save the environment.

Poverty

When most people mention poverty, they think specifically about being poor and having no money. But a uni student, can be poor, and have no money, but can also have a large support network and family
